We offer a range of activities, accreditations and learning opportunities for adults and young people with additional needs and learning disabilities.
From cookery and shopping, managing money, health and hygiene and managing appointments, our daily living skills programme builds skills, independence and confidence in a supportive environment.
Writing CVs, Interview skills, Presentation, Interaction, Communication, Customer service, work experience placements, and voluntary work help build confidence, independence and essential skills for work, all in a supportive environment with staff who understand that some people need time to process new learning.
We also deliver Functional skills Maths and English teaching for those wanting to gain accreditation from Entry level 1 to Level 2.
We also provide social and enterprise activities for those clients who are at risk of becoming isolated and lonely. The Enterprise activities give purpose and build confidence, and our social activities provide opportunities to meet others, build relationships, and practice communication and interaction skills.
We also offer one to one learning and teaching support or support to access the community to clients who are unable to access the Centre for whatever reason. These can be organised by contacting us and having a discussion about potential outcomes and learning opportunities.
We offer Daily Living Skills training in a supportive environment, always concentrating on development and retention of skills.
We offer Work based training and learning, both in the centre and in work placements on the Island.
We offer a Social and Enterprise programme to boost confidence, enable interaction and prevent loneliness.
We offer a parent and carer group every Thursday between 10am and 12pm for support and chat/coffee/activities, because we know how isolating and stressful life can be for families of individuals with Learning Disabilities and Additional needs, as well as for the individuals themselves.
We will be holding various special events throughout the year, including a Valentines Dance, Easter fun and Games, Summer Activities, Hallowe'en Dance Party, and Christmas Ball, amongst others.
Join us and join in the fun!
We offer a Mental Health Support Group twice a week on Monday and Friday between 10am and 12pm. Please do come along, have a coffee/tea and a chat, spend time with us crafting, playing games, doing artwork, and meeting people who understand that life isn't perfect and that we all need some kindness and understanding sometimes.
(Please note that we are not medical professionals and this is not a medical intervention, just a drop in and chat session)
